Hello Friends.
Today, I invite you to join me on a journey, a romantic tale of inspiration that led to the creation of a guitar instrumental, inspired by none other than the world-famous Water of Leith that graces the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland.
The Serenade's Beginnings:
As a musician, I've had the privilege of embarking on several Scotland Tours, alone and with great artists (but that’s a story for another blog). Most of these tours left me awestruck and filled with inspiration.
I have great memories about the magical connection that music can forge between my songs and the Scottish audience.
But even a musician needs a respite, a moment to let the creative spirit flow freely.
The Inspiration: On one of my days off, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the banks of the Water of Leith. The river, like a shimmering ribbon, meandered gracefully through Edinburgh's picturesque landscape. It was as if nature herself had orchestrated this setting for a musician's soul to take flight.
As I gazed upon the tranquil waters, the warmth of the sun was kissing my skin, I felt an overwhelming surge of inspiration. It was in that moment that the idea for a song started to take shape in my mind. I wanted to compose a piece that would not only encapsulate my musical journey and pay homage to the very essence of Edinburgh itself.
The Composition: With my trusty MN Guitar in hand, I began to play. The strings responded to my touch as if they were a part of my very being, and the melodies flowed forth like a river's current. Each note was a brushstroke on the canvas of my musical expression, a canvas painted with the love and longing that had been inspired by the Water of Leith.
The music that emerged was a testament to the countless romances that had blossomed along these riverbanks. It whispered of stolen glances exchanged by lovers on the bridges, of secrets shared beneath the shade of overhanging trees, and of promises made as the river's waters carried them away. My guitar’s instrumental became a serenade, a love letter to the Water of Leith, and by extension, to the city that had captured my heart. It embodied the magic of Edinburgh and the romance that danced along its riverbanks.
So, while you are listening to this tune, I invite you to close your eyes and let the music transport you to the banks of the Water of Leith. Feel the love, the history, and the beauty that inspired this composition.
Let it be the soundtrack of your own romantic journey, whether it's a stroll along the Water of Leith or an exploration of the depths of your own heart. Thank you for joining me on this musical voyage, and may the melodies of love always serenade your soul.
Love,
Roberto
